How to Use
- 1Drop a photo onto the box or choose one. A phone picture of a printed photo works too.
- 2Wait while the photo is restored. The first time, the tool downloads its AI models once (about 20 to 30 MB, plus 85 MB if the photo has faces).
- 3Drag across the photo to compare before and after, and adjust the sliders if you like.
- 4Choose a size and click "Download restored photo".
Your privacy
Most photo restoration sites upload your family photos to their servers. Here the AI models run inside your browser, on your own computer or phone, so your photos never leave your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I restore an old photo for free?
Add the photo above and wait for the result. Colours, contrast, detail and faces are fixed automatically, with no watermark. Drag across the photo to compare, then click "Download restored photo".
Does it work with a phone picture of a printed photo?
Yes. Take the picture straight on, without flash glare, and fill the frame with the print. The tool removes the colour cast and the JPEG compression that phones and messaging apps add.
Will the faces still look like the person?
Faces are rebuilt by AI (GFPGAN) from the detail that is left. With very small or very blurry faces the AI has to guess, so compare with the original. Lower "Face restoration" to keep more of the original face.
Does it remove scratches and tears?
It removes grain, dust-like noise and compression damage, but it does not paint over large scratches, folds or missing pieces.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything happens on your device, and your photos never leave it.
