Frequently Asked Questions

Why 18 MB if Gmail allows 25 MB?

Email attachments are encoded as text, which makes them about a third larger. An 18 MB video takes about 24 MB in the email, just under Gmail’s 25 MB limit.

What about Outlook and other email services?

Outlook.com allows 20 MB per message, so type 14 MB there. Work email often allows more; ask your IT team if you are not sure.

How long a video fits in 18 MB?

About a minute and a half at 720p, and longer at 480p. The tool lowers the resolution when needed.

Is there a better way for long videos?

For videos longer than a few minutes, a shared link from Google Drive, OneDrive or iCloud keeps full quality. Compressing here first still makes that upload faster.
